About this blog
Hi there, I’m Derek.
I recently quit my cushy job in software engineering to start chasing after a happier, more fulfilling life.
Admittedly, I’m not quite there yet, but I’ve found that helping others in their search for happiness and self-actualization has been very transformative, and keeps me mostly happy as a bee. As they say, life is about the journey, not the destination.
Along the way, one thing in particular has stood out – just how many people are drawn to the narrative of chasing down what they want, but haven’t found the time to embrace it for themselves. When I hear this, I usually respond with “It’s never too late to try!” or some other platitude that inevitably falls short of being influential. This blog is my small concerted attempt to help others go about achieving their own personal dreams in a more definitive, meaningful, and actionable manner.
A footnote: one of my own personal passions is photography, for which this blog doubles as an outlet. Unless otherwise credited, all photos / videos are my own! You can find more of them here.
Enjoy!
My goal in creating this blog this is to get other people to make positive steps toward living the life that they want. I want to equip members of our youngest generation with light-hearted tips, lessons, anecdotes, and any other tools that will at least motivate them to try. If I can encourage just one single person start down the long road toward self-fulfillment, my work here will have been 100% satisfying and worthwhile.
If you have any feedback, tips, ideas, or stories that you’d like to contribute to this blog, feel free to contact me. I’d love to hear from you!
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Go be happy!
